Sefwi Paboase Chief provides accommodation for health workers
The Chief of Sefwi Paboase who doubles as Mponuahene of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area in the Wiawso Municipality in the Western Region, Nana Frimpong Manso Ababio, has handed over keys of a six Bedroom self-contain house worth over One Hundred and Sixty-two Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS162, 000.00) to health workers at Paboase health center as a motivational package to encourage them to improve upon delivery and also to enjoy their stay in working at the area.

As part of the programme, three hundred and ten ((310) residents from ten surrounding communities were freely registered under the National Health Insurance Scheme to help them access the facility.

The beneficiary communities were Akoti, Project, Paboase, Etwebo, Ntretreso, Appiahkrom among others.

He said, the gesture forms part of his goals to help save lives and people from dying at the center as well as bringing the staff closer to the facility in order response to cases at all times and to improve the healthcare services in the Paboase health center.

He said, it is also to follow the footsteps of other prominent chiefs who have not relented in their contribution to the development of the community, especially in the areas of health and education.



A ceremony to present the keys to the six bedroom self -contain house attracted many dignitaries within and outside Wiawso Municipality which included the Clergy, traditional leaders, the MCE for Sefwi Wiawso Municipality, health staff and the general public.

Speaking at the event, Nana Frimpong Manso Ababio, commended the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Adoo for his historical achievement within the space of two years in power, particularly the introduction of Free Senior School (Free SHS) and the creation of six more Regions.

Nana Ababio however, pleaded on government to fix their feeder road from Ntretreso junction to Akoti to enable farmers in the area to transport their farms produce to the market.

The Director of Sefwi Wiawso Health Directorate Mr. Peter Tweneboah, who received the keys on behalf of the facility Management thanked Nana Ababio for the provision of shelter to the health workers.



He, therefore, pledged to handle the nurses quarters with care and also ensure regular maintenance of the building to preserve it for future generations.

On his part, the Paramount Chief of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area, who was the chairperson for the occasion, Katakyie Kwasi Bumagama ll, praised Nana Frimpong Manso Ababio for his numerous efforts to bring several developmental projects to uplift the face of Sefwi's.

Nana Bumagama, therefore, tasked his sub- chiefs to follow the good steps of the Paboase Chief.
